Main Purpose of the role
To ensure machines are built to specification with zero defects and of high standard quality finish. Machines must be built within the agreed standard build time. Ensure high standards of right first time, build efficiency and service level are consistently achieved. Provide fast resolution to any assembly issues identified and ensure good levels of communication with Production team.
Primary responsibilities
- Responsible for health and welfare of both themselves and fellow team members.
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches and written instructions of engineers and other team members and then to assemble as required.
- Assemble bracketry frame and perform minor soldering of components to boards or connectors.
- Adhere to UK Health and Safety Regulations and safe working practices.
- Adhere to Ishida’s quality standards, factory rules and HR policies.
- Help, encourage and develop other team members within the department as required.
- Assist Team Leader and other team members in continuous improvement activities.
- Welcome customers/visitors in a professional manner at all times.
- Report Health and Safety issues / near misses to Assembly Team Leader.
- Update hours accounting on ERP system in a timely manner.
- Keep work station organised and orderly, and to make sure that production parts, tools, test equipment and documentation are properly stored and maintained.
What skills are we looking for?
To be successful in this role you must have experience in assembly engineering or production, ability to follow verbal and written instructions, consistently produce a high standard service, ability to work efficiently, health and safety awareness, good knowledge of the equipment and tools and have the ability to achieve “Right First Time” performance against cost and timescale targets.
The ideal candidate will have good communication skills, be self-motivated, excellent attention to detail, team player, flexible and have the willingness to learn and develop.
