Main Purpose of the role

A Continuous Improvement (CI) Engineer plays a key role in driving operational efficiency, process optimisation, and business transformation at Ishida Europe Ltd. This role focuses on identifying and eliminating inefficiencies, implementing Lean and Six Sigma principles, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement across all levels of the organisation. This role is to provide the business with a conduit for smooth transition of change. It is to lead improvement projects, optimising both efficiency and effectiveness of business processes. The purpose of this role is to enable and facilitate the business to perform at its highest capability.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Apply Lean methodologies to improve processes, reduce waste, and enhance efficiency.
  • To instruct, coach and develop team members (and the wider business) as required in the application of Lean Six Sigma principles.
  • To create and implement action plans for process improvement, in support of the business objectives (Efficiency & Effectiveness, Revenue, Capacity, Lead Times etc.)
  • Lead & Manage CI projects, ensuring timely execution and measurable impact.
  • To ensure all operational processes (procedures, work instructions, process maps etc.) adhere to Ishida’s quality standards.
  • To lead Kaizen initiatives throughout the business, promoting the culture of continuous improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with multiple departments to integrate CI initiatives across the organization, developing strong stakeholder engagement and ensuring alignment and support for CI projects.
  • Conduct root cause analysis using structured methodologies to identify and eliminate process inefficiencies.
  • To aid the successful Introduction of New Products, meeting set project objectives including scope, timeframe and costings.

 

 

What skills are we looking for?

To be successful in this role you will have the ability to identify waste/inefficiencies have a good understanding of root cause analysis, strong communication skills, excellent project management.

The right candidate will possess a good attention to detail, self-motivated, flexible and willing to learn and develop. You will be able to consistently achieve ‘Right First Time’ performance against cost and time scale targets. Previous experience in continuous improvement and a good understanding of engineering principles.
