Main Purpose of the role

A primary support function to the business, providing target costs for all the new and existing Equipment projects utilizing expertise, logic & a robust data driven approach.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conducting competitor benchmarking studies. On new and existing components,
  • Maintain and improve current costing process always seeking to introduce new technology and processes to improve.
  • Create and store reference information for what a typical part should cost.
  • Support the procurement and systems team to ensure reorder levels and quantity ordering is as efficiently as possible.
  • Be aware of market fluctuation of raw material, Labor costs and global opportunities that could benefit the company,
  • Work with Engineering departments to highlight specific areas that need to reduce the cost of the design.
  • Liaise with necessary departments and subcontract suppliers to ensure Batch Quantities, material utilisation, Standardisation and lean manufacturing opportunities are implemented.
  • To ensure full compliance with UK Health and Safety Regulations and reporting of any issues to the Production Manager
  • To ensure full compliance with Ishida’s quality standards
  • Ensure KPI targets for RFT, efficiency, utilisation, cost and service level / on time delivery are consistently achieved.
  • To champion continuous improvement activities.
  • To adhere to all deadlines and targets set by Man-Eng Manager.
  • To instruct, coach and develop team members as required.
  • Establish good working relationship with all.
  • Highlight any existing or forecasted problems to the Production Manager.

 

 

What skills are we looking for?

To be successful in the role, you will hold a relevant Engineering Qualification or proven experience in stainless steel fabrication, machining, and processing. Good interpersonal and communication skills are important along with excellent problem analytical & problem-solving skills, a full understanding of engineering drawings and you’re able to interrogate MRP and CADCAM system for Information.

You must have technical and commercial awareness of bottom-up costing.

You will be proficient with the use of Office IT skills, including word and excel.

You will be a good team player, able to work to tight deadline's, have good prioritisation skills and have excellent customer service skills and experience.

It’s essential you hold a full UK driving licence as this role will require travel.
