Accountabilities

The owner of the role within the Snacks Applications Engineering Team is accountable for ensuring assigned orders are delivered to meet as a minimum:

  • Contractual On Time Delivery Promise Dates, for all Ishida and OEM ancillary solutions relating to snacks orders within defined KPI’s.
  • Right first time.
  • Customer Technical & Performance Requirements
  • Quality Assurance in accordance with IEL Integrated Management System
  • Customer Satisfaction that exceeds 80%

Primary Responsibilities

  • Management of customer orders utilising basic project management techniques.
  • Ensure that contractual order milestones are met.
  • Attend sales support, customer, and third-party supplier meetings on and off site.
  • Actively manage controllable project costings to ensure that the order meets, as a minimum its as sold gross margin %.
  • Support Quality Audits upon the Snacks Applications function.
  • Ensure all order deliverable documents and reports are professional presented, timely issued and are appropriately controlled.
  • Provide technical solution and risk support for sales at all stages of an order, from enquiry to final acceptance, with Key accounts and core sales teams.
  • Responsibility for ancillary equipment selection/machine specifications, Bill Of Materials (BOM’s), development work, and value engineering activities on-time and to the correct specification.
  • Organising customer trials, collaborating with Sales, PDI, Marketing teams and with Ishida Japan.
  • Producing project specific layout drawings and demonstrate high standards of mechanical engineering using both 2D (AutoCAD) and 3D CAD design software (SolidWorks) as well as any other technical documentation required throughout the order process.
  • Maintain good working relationships and proactively liaise and negotiate with assembly teams, planning, purchasing, sales, and other key members of all departments to assure the success of the orders and daily tasks.
  • Responsible for the production of, engineering specifications for internal products and OEM equipment
  • Work with OEMs and internal suppliers to ensure order deliverables are achieved.
  • Responsibility to ensure that the design criteria complies with all applicable technical and statutory regulations. (i.e. customers specific Code of Practice, including UK Health and Safety Regulations, EC Directives, etc)

What skills are we looking for?

To be successful in the role, you will hold a HNC/HND or equivalent in an engineering discipline, have commercial awareness, must have good understanding of project management software, excellent communication skills, must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple enquiries in parallel at any given time, have the ability to problem solve, must have excellent organisation and planning skills and have excellent customer service skills.

The ideal candidate will be able to work as part of a highly motivated team, be customer focussed, must be assertive, confident and outgoing, have a positive “can do” attitude, must be adaptable and resilient to change, demonstrates high levels of accuracy and attention to detail and have a proactive approach.

You must be willing to travel overseas, be fluent in English both written and spoken.
