Main Purpose of the role
Responsible for the system design, managing work packages, management of site works and ensuring system performance and integration.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead in producing innovative, value-engineered control and electrical systems based on client requirements.
- Develop relationships with OEMs, system integrators and electrical services suppliers.
- Lead in Identifying new technologies or solutions that can be applied to enhance the Ishida value proposition.
- Producing and managing electrical / control system drawings
- Producing engineering specifications for bought-out equipment or works packages
- Managing project suppliers (internal and external) to ensure agreed project deliverables are achieved
- Carrying out designers’ risk assessment for the system design concepts
- Ensuring design criteria complies with all applicable technical and statutory regulations (Machinery directive etc.)
- Carrying out pre-delivery inspections of “bought-out” equipment
- Management of site works (Knowledge of CDM would be an advantage)
- Provide site support during system commissioning & testing.
- The role holder will undertake all tasks within their level of skill and ability that are commensurate with the post
What skills are we looking for?
The successful candidate must have a Degree or HNC in Electrical Engineering; however, candidates with an ONC level qualification and strong relevant experience will also be considered. A sound understanding of electrical and industry-specific standards and regulations is essential, along with the ability to produce and interpret electrical drawings, experience in PLC programming and a basic knowledge of fault-finding are required.
The ideal candidate will have experience using Microsoft Office applications and Microsoft Project, must be a strong team player with well-developed interpersonal and organisational skills, and will demonstrate high levels of drive, energy, and focus, with the tenacity to deliver results. A full driving licence and a current passport are essential, as the role involves extensive travel across EMEA.
