What is the purpose of the role?
To generate sales within the assigned geographical area in order to achieve the revenue targets for Ishida Europe products and services.
Primary Responsibilities
- Plan and execute visits within the assigned territory to existing and potential customers within the food and non-food industries.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with current and potential customers in order to become a “trusted advisor”, increase sales and achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
- Keep territory customer and own activity records up to date on CRM.
- Prepare accurate quotes and orders for sales of Ishida products and services using the CPQ system.
- Build and maintain good working relationships with colleagues, managers, engineers and office-based staff to facilitate an end-to-end, joined-up approach to sales and after sales service to customers.
- Commitment to acquire further skills and knowledge of Ishida Europe products and services in order to build expertise, client confidence and offer an unrivalled service to customers and potential customers.
- Related to the above, remain appraised of trends in the food and food machinery manufacturing industries, of matters and issues affecting clients and potential clients in your region/territory, and of competitor offers and services.
- Active participation in the Performance Management process.
- Active participation in training and development opportunities.
- Submit agreed periodic activity reports and plans to the General Manager.
- Achieve monthly sales and calls targets.
- At all times demonstrate customer service aligned with Ishida standards.
- Current Belgium market have been taken care of by Agent, this will be a new direct territory of Ishida Europe and needs “Hunter” type sales person.
- Office Location Ishida BV, Best, Eindhoven. Regular attendance at the office preferred on Mondays for internal sales meetings.
What skills are we looking for?
The successful candidate must have strong knowledge of technical and/or engineering products, ideally supported by sales, engineering or food-related qualifications. They will demonstrate a proven ability to build and maintain effective customer relationships that generate new and repeat sales, with a strong track record of managing the full sales cycle from enquiry to order within a B2B environment. Experience in achieving challenging sales and revenue targets is essential, ideally gained within the food, engineering, or manufacturing industries, with an understanding of food and/or non-food industry processes and food processing equipment considered an advantage. The role requires excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey and assimilate complex technical information, supported by a full understanding of sales processes, CRM systems, and Microsoft applications. Fluency in Dutch and English, both spoken and written, is essential, with French considered an advantage. Knowledge of Ishida Europe’s products and services, as well as awareness of market dynamics and competition within the assigned region, would be beneficial.
The ideal candidate must have a proactive, self-motivated approach and demonstrate initiative, flexibility, and a strong team-oriented mindset. They will be task- and results-focused while remaining people-centred, open-minded, and analytical, with the ability to support project planning and contribute to the planning and selling of industry solutions. Experience in data analysis and report building would be advantageous. A strong willingness to learn and engage in continuous professional development is essential. The successful individual will represent Ishida Europe with integrity at all times and adopt a collaborative approach when working closely with colleagues and customers to deliver effective, value-driven solutions.
